Honest review of Shark Glossi multi styler

When the Shark Glossi two-in-one Hot Tool and Air Glosser arrived for testing, the reviewer had been spending months trying to work with her natural curls. Air drying, curling balms, no heat — it was a restorative phase.

Winter rain kept turning her hair into a frizzy mess, so by October she was back to regular styling. The constant blowdrying and touch-ups ate up mirror time. Then Shark Beauty offered a new tool that promised to cut that down.

The Glossi is a $200 device from Shark Beauty, designed to deliver a quick blowout without switching attachments.

Unlike the FlexStyle, which has multiple heads, this tool uses two modes: wet and dry. You can dry and style wet hair on the wet setting, then switch to dry mode to refresh or lock in the look. The device is teardrop-shaped, with heat-controlled ceramic plates and nylon and boar bristles that sit close to the roots without burning the scalp.

Because the reviewer already used the brush attachment on the FlexStyle, there wasn’t much of a learning curve. She washed her hair, applied a Shiseido Fino hair mask, and let it air dry for about half an hour before starting. Despite the tool’s claim of “no heat damage,” she added some heat protectant to her ends anyway.

Following the instructions, she flipped her wet hair upside down and ran the tool through on wet mode. Then she divided small sections and worked the brush upward and outward from the scalp.

After that, she went back over everything using the dry setting to seal in the gloss. The whole process, from wet to finished, took 27 minutes.

The dry mode turned out to be surprisingly useful. She noted that with other blow-dry brush tools, she often needed extra heat styling — like a curler — to keep frizz away the next day. The device’s dry mode locked in the style without switching attachments.

A couple of days later, after getting caught in the rain, she gave her hair a quick refresh with the dry setting and it took only 10 minutes.

The reviewer said yes, one hundred percent. She appreciates tools that are quick and multi-purpose. The fact that the Glossi can dry, style, and refresh without needing to store extra attachments was a huge plus. At the price point, she called it well worth the investment, especially for someone who wants one easy tool without spending hours watching tutorials.
