Aldi has broadened its popular Yorkshire pudding wrap lineup for the Christmas season by adding two new varieties, beef and chicken, each sold for £3.49. The discounter introduced the flavours after the original wrap generated considerable buzz on social media platforms last year, prompting the retailer to expand the range while keeping the same affordable price point.
The beef version contains British beef, a mix of vegetables and classic roast dinner seasonings, all wrapped in a soft Yorkshire pudding and served with a side of gravy dip. The chicken alternative mirrors this format with British chicken, comparable veg and the same traditional flavours. Weighing 335 g and 330 g respectively, both items are stocked in stores across the country now, arriving ahead of the return of the original Christmas Dinner wrap scheduled for November 25.
When the product first appeared last November, Aldi positioned it as a lower-cost substitute for the Yorkshire pudding wraps commonly sold at holiday markets, where prices can exceed £10. The launch quickly captured the attention of TikTok and Instagram users, whose posts highlighted the convenience and taste of the snack. Buoyed by that online enthusiasm, the retailer chose to keep the offering for a second year, retaining the same price.

These new wraps sit within Aldi’s broader festive food-to-go collection. That assortment also features the returning Pigs in Blankets Sandwich, priced at £1.99, and a Brie & Cranberry Sandwich sold for £2.49. In addition, a Specially Selected Honey Roast Gammon & Christmas Slaw Bloomer will join shelves on November 26 with a price of £2.99, further expanding the holiday menu.
Competition in the market for roast-dinner-style convenience foods is intensifying. Toby Carvery recently unveiled a frozen Yorkshire pudding wrap range that is sold exclusively through Iceland and The Food Warehouse. Those wraps are listed at £4.75 each, with a two-for-£8.50 deal available for shoppers seeking a larger supply.
Aldi’s overall Christmas food offering this year comprises more than 100 new products, covering premium centrepieces, party snacks and a variety of desserts. The extensive selection aims to attract consumers who are looking for lower-cost alternatives to higher-priced festive items, providing a range of options that balance quality with affordability.
