The new menu will be available at Food 2 Go counters in every store across Leeds and Batley. The family-run retailer says the range was created to offer quick, filling, and value-for-money options for busy parents and schoolchildren alike.
The offer starts at just £1.50, with customers able to pick up two freshly made samosas for only £1.50 or a hot pasty for £1.50. This makes it one of the most affordable freshly prepared ranges in the store and directly addresses the demand for budget-friendly items during the school holidays.
The launch builds on Abu Bakr’s growing Food 2 Go brand, which has become one of the supermarket chain’s fastest-growing fresh food offerings. The counters are already a popular feature inside Abu Bakr supermarkets, serving freshly prepared halal meals, bakery items, sandwiches, and hot food throughout the day.

The New Menu
The new school meal range includes a variety of options to suit different tastes and dietary needs. The lineup features two freshly made samosas, including vegetarian options, priced at £1.50. Customers can also choose a hot pasty, which comes with vegetarian selections, for the same price.
For a heartier meal, the range offers Butter Chicken or Chicken Tikka Masala, with a choice of meat and vegetarian curry alternatives for £7.50. Side items like freshly made warm naan bread and drinks, such as two cans of Coke or a selection of fresh juice, are available for £1.00 each.
One of the defining features of this rollout is the flexibility of the basket. The meals have been designed so customers can mix and match snacks, drinks, and hot food, making the range ideal for school lunches, after-school meals, or an affordable family dinner.
